Did you know?

Here are just a few things to think about as you try to stay motivated on a healthier path through the summer.

One study in the American Journal of Public Health asked 150,000 adults about their current weight, their ideal weight and how often then felt unhealthy.  The less satisfied people were with their size, the more unhealthy they felt, regardless of their weight.  So what this translates to is to focus on what you CAN do, not how much you weigh.  Work on increasing what you and your can DO.

Another study from Berkeley, CA found that runners who returned to running after a long break didn't drop any pounds until they significantly increased their mileage beyond what they used to do.  Translation:  if your routine helped you maintain your weight previously, that is all it will do now.  Interesting!

Both of these notes are from SHAPE June 2008.

I hope to see everyone after the long weekend at the My Cart Blossoms.  I'll have zinnias, snapdragons, dahlias and the favorite - Sunflowers!

"Seek out that particular mental attitude which makes you feel most deeply and vitally alive, along with which comes the inner voice which says, 'This is the REAL me'."  William James
