Start with the Garden
So as many of you know by now I have a dream to open a Wellness Centre called Dragonflies and Daisies. And in the process of figuring out what that means I've heard the little voice say "Start with the Garden". So this summer I focused more on my garden. I'm moving things around (frist time I've got to see one of my gardens mature enough to do that). It's been a lot of fun to "allow" myself this time to play and dream.
With the focus back on gardening I've come to realize that that is where my spirit truly is. If I am true to my spirit then the rest will fall into place. I understand this is all great learning experiences for the garden retreat.
One idea I had was that Monday would not be Monday at the retreat. The garden would open Tuesdays; guests would arrive to stay on Tuesdays. Mondays have such a negative connotation - returning to work, thinking of all the people you need to call, the diet you'll start etc. So for me - Monday can be flower cutting day - could there be a better way to start a Monday?!
I even feel I have let go of the dream a little. Possibly because I can put the ideas in a file and trust that their time will come. Being able to "practice and play" in my garden helps me know that there is a benefit to all when I share my garden through the flowers. I am open to more possibilities now that the dream is floating away.
I am seriously considering investing in me and my garden by attending some classes at Hort Week at Olds College next summer. If anybody has been or would like to come, let me know.
Along with practice in the garden I am answering the question Who do I want to be in this garden, creating what energy? And my answer is a grounded mother. I have always been a mother. The definition of a mother is when you offer the following gifts:
Wow that is very powerful for me to acknowledge I am a mother. I intend the garden retreat (sacred space) will allow people to come and heal and feel safe and grounded. That intention will be present as I develop the space, practice being me and asking for all of these dreams to come true.
So how does this apply to everyone else and their dreams:
Own your dream

- Acceptance
- Nourishment - body, mind, heart, earth
- Instruction - teach, explain to live well
- Empowerment - courage and confidence

Own your dream
- Take small steps every day towards that dream
- Think outside the box, get creative
- Trust and believe, believe and trust
- Ask for help
Now a couple of quotes on dreams (of course!)
"If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours." Henry David Thoreau
"Your dream might change our planet." Edward Lindaman (1920-1982) Futurist and educator
